The secondment

A major, multi-national logistics provider needed an employment lawyer when their own in-house lawyer went on secondment for a year. We discussed and identified the particular skill set the client wanted and we provided an experienced employment lawyer from The People Pool, who could start virtually straight away.

By using the People Pool, the client avoided having to recruit and manage the individual as this is all taken care of by us. We ensured the client received a good service by:

  • using our own case management system, The People Pool consultant worked with our own lawyers on the same projects and cases seamlessly;
  • providing supervision through regular catch up calls with the People Pool consultant and the DAC Beachcroft client partner to talk through issues and act as a sounding board;
  • ensuring that other People Pool lawyers provided cover for the secondee during holiday periods. This ensured the client had continuous cover throughout the secondment;
  • being flexible so the client chose when and where the secondee worked for it.
