Board level joint venture advice

Board level joint venture advice

One of our US-listed financial services clients needed a senior lawyer to provide Board level advice on a key governmental joint venture. The requirement was for someone to contribute on an occasional day call-off basis on project governance and the legal and regulatory environment, attending joint venture Board meetings. That was in addition to providing cover for the client’s main in-house legal team on other work. The brief called for a senior lawyer with strong people skills, comfortable with working at Board level and open to a flexible working arrangement in London. This worked for our Lawyer Connective participant, David Chmiel, who committed to c3-4 days per month around his political risk consultancy work through his own business, Global Torchlight.
Client feedback
“David’s governmental and senior management experience, and preference for flexible working, was a great fit with what we needed in circumstances where an ordinary secondment might not have offered such flexibility and value.”
