Post acquisition in-house support

One of our regional clients in the healthcare recruitment sector, recently acquired into a multi-national group, was looking for someone to provide in-house guidance following the acquisition of that business. The role required a self-starter who had broad-based and senior experience of working in-house and was ideally someone local to Bristol or Bath. One of our Lawyer Connective lawyers, Gareth Hopkins, an alumnus of the firm, was already involved in working for 2-3 days a week on an assignment with a health insurance client in the Bristol area. That enabled him to pick up the additional role in addition. As the health insurance assignment wound down Gareth then stepped in to support the firm on a particular project negotiating and documenting a major supply contract for one the firm’s key clients, using energy experience drawn from a previous in-house role. At every step, Gareth’s senior in-house experience was invaluable.

Firm feedback

“Lawyer Connective relies on the firm having a close-knit group of senior lawyers with in-house experience who are embracing flexible working. That is sometimes for work-life balance and sometimes to fit around other personal projects. For those we work with, we can provide a ready mix of assignments from full-time, fixed period secondments to particular projects in isolation. When it works it is a great win/win for the individual and the firm”.
