A client of the firm, Zurich Insurance plc, was looking to fill an interim position to cover an unexpected departure from their IT procurement mini-team, and a lawyer with a minimum of 5 years PQE experience was needed to “hit the ground running”.

When Zurich asked for our help, we were able to put them in touch with Alan Easton, a People Pool in-house candidate. Alan had previously worked in-house with Luup and had worked for Zurich several years previously while on secondment from a private practice law firm. Our candidate was returning from a year on sabbatical travelling the world with his wife and was therefore interested in an interim position. People Pool made the introductions, and as a result, the candidate was placed with the Corporate and Commercial Legal Team.

The placement was successful and after 6 months in the role, Zurich offered our candidate a full time position, which he accepted (thus Zurich avoided a recruitment fee, and the candidate was able to demonstrate his skills in order to land a permanent job).
